Sandy Creek Nature Center, Inc. is the nonprofit organization which founded Sandy Creek Nature Center in 1973.  We now work in partnership with the Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department, Natural Resources Division, to provide ongoing support to Sandy Creek Nature Center. The non-profit’s Board of Directors work as a liason between the staff and the community, a partner in ongoing development, an advocate for the nature center and environmental protection, and a source of supplemental funding.

 

The mission of SCNC, Inc. is to protect, guide, and support the enviornmental education and preservation work of Sandy Creek Nature Center. This partnership ensures that critically needed science, natural science, and environmental education programs and services are available to all segments of the local and regional community.

Our goal is to help Sandy Creek Nature Center continue to be an exceptional facility for learning about the natural ecosystems of Piedmont Georgia and beyond, as well as our responsibility to be good stewards of our earth.
