The Greenways and Riverside Parks consist of 700 acres of greenspace and riverside parks including a 3.5 mile concrete path for non-motorized use.

The 72 acres of Memorial Park boasts a swimming pool, three-acre lake, playground, Birchmore Trail, Bear Hollow Wildlife Trail and Athens Creative Theatre.
